I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 2006 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and went on to teach kindergarten at Sewickley Academy in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2009, I earned my Master’s in Education from the University of Pittsburgh in special education.
My teaching style is built on humor and acceptance. When I worked in the classroom, you would find students of every level participating and feeling a part of a unique community. I believe that students must be engaged to perform to their full potential. Now that I have dedicated more time to tutoring students, I find the same principles apply. It all begins with feeling safe, asking questions, and building confidence. The key to helping students find success is to help them develop a sense of self.
